With a variety of handy tools and great services available, it’s never been easier to travel around by public transport. New technology means you don’t have to wait around at bus stops, many buses and trains now have WiFi on board, cashless ticket options and more!
Pinewood Grange is in a great location for those wanting to undertake trips by public transport. In addition to a number of handy bus services, Castleford train station is also within a 30 minutes walk of your new home. This makes it easy and convenient to leave the car at home, whether travelling locally, heading to destinations such as Sheffield or Leeds, or travelling further afield.
Castleford station has hourly services to Sheffield in one direction and twice hourly services to Leeds in the other.
Key Local Bus Services
Your nearest bus stops are located on Cutsyke Road, just a short walk from the new homes at Pinewood Grange. The services available from these stops are detailed below, with a link to the timetable and further information:
Services 144 and 146 are operated by Ross Travel, and run between Pontefract and Castleford.
The services combine to provide a bus service twice per hour, Monday to Saturday.
Service 186, run by Arriva, operates between Wakefield and Pontefract, with hourly services, Monday to Saturday and four services per day on Sundays.

Paying for your Journey
Catching the bus or train no longer has to mean fumbling around for change before hopping on to pay the driver or conductor in a rush! There are so many different ways to pay for your journey now that you may feel a little spoilt for choice!
It’s also important to check that you aren’t paying too much. Whilst paying for single or return tickets is OK for occasional or one off journeys, those who travel more frequently by bus and/or rail can save some significant cash by choosing monthly or annual passes.
